| "40 MPH couch potatoes" is not just a saying. That's what you get when you adopt a greyhound from the Mid-South Greyhound Adoption Option (MSGAO)! This great non-profit organization is located right on the grounds of Southland Park and has been adopting out greyhounds to loving families since its inception in 1992.
The MSGAO adoption group is run be an executive director and a staff of volunteers who have been personally involved in the greyhound racing business for many years. Our staff does a wonderful job caring for the retired racers and guiding them through the transition process from their racing kennel to their new homes.
In addition to conducting a number of fund raising events for the program, MSGAO receives over $75,000 each year from Southland Park. In addition to these funds, each of the eighteen kennels racing at Southland Park supports the program by making a donation from their purse account each week throughout the year.
Each year, Southland Park hosts an annual greyhound adoption reunion where over 250 greyhounds (and their adopters) return to Southland Park to meet new friends and renew old acquaintances.
